Privacy Policy

Who we are

Skill Forge Athletics (“Skill Forge,” “we,” “us”) builds tools that help parents and coaches of youth lacrosse players understand development needs and run focused practice at home. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to get rid of it if you want to.

What we collect

When you use Skill Forge, we collect:

• Quiz responses— the answers you give about your player’s position, age group, observable behaviors, and tendencies. You provide these yourself; we don’t pull them from anywhere else.
• Your email address— when you choose to save your result or receive weekly drills.
• A player name— whatever you type in. First names are fine; we don’t require last names.
• Observations you log— free-text notes you submit on the dashboard about what you see at games or practices.
• Basic technical data— standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page), used for security and aggregate analytics.

We don’t collect: payment information (the product is free during pilot), photos, video, location data, or anything from your player directly.

How we use it

• To generate a personalized player profile and the weekly drill emails you receive.
• To deliver the emails you ask for and let you unsubscribe at any time.
• To understand how the product is being used in aggregate — what answers are common, where users drop off, which drills get marked “ran well” versus “ran struggle.” This is anonymized pattern analysis, not individual surveillance.
• To respond to your support requests.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of trusted infrastructure vendors. None of them sell your data:

• Anthropic— processes your quiz answers to generate the player profile and weekly drill content via the Claude AI model. Anthropic does not train models on this content.
• Resend— delivers the emails we send you.
• Vercel— hosts the website and runs the server code.
• Neon— provides the database where your data is stored.

We don’t sell your data, rent it, or trade it. We don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers. If we’re ever required to disclose it by law (e.g., a court order), we’ll comply only to the extent required.

Children’s privacy

Skill Forge is built for parents and coaches, not children. The quiz is filled out by an adult who provides observations about a child. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

If you’re a parent and want us to delete information about your player at any time, email us at support@skillforge.fit. We’ll do it.

AI use

The player profile, weekly drills, and position recommendations are generated by an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) based on the answers you provide. We’ve built the prompts to be honest about uncertainty and avoid overconfident claims, but the output is not professional coaching advice or a medical assessment.

Your rights and controls

• Unsubscribe from weekly drill emails any time using the link in the footer of every email we send.
• Delete your data by emailing support@skillforge.fit. We’ll remove your quiz results, observations, and any associated email.
• Access or correct what we have on file by emailing the same address.
• Withdraw consent at any time. Unsubscribing or deleting your account stops further processing.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA (right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights). To exercise them, email the same address.

Cookies and storage

We use localStorage in your browser to save quiz drafts so you can pick up where you left off. We don’t use tracking cookies for advertising. We do use basic analytics (Vercel Analytics) to count page views and understand traffic patterns in aggregate; that data isn’t tied to your email or quiz answers.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted database storage, hashed access tokens for dashboard URLs, and limited employee access. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat this seriously because we’re asking parents to trust us.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the “Effective” date at the top and notify active subscribers via email. Minor edits (typos, clarifying wording) won’t trigger notification.
