Terms of Service

What this is

Skill Forge Athletics (“Skill Forge,” “we,” “us”) provides quizzes, an AI-generated player profile, a private dashboard, and weekly drill emails to help parents and coaches of youth lacrosse players. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the service. By using Skill Forge, you agree to them.

Who can use this

The service is for parents, coaches, and adults responsible for youth lacrosse players. You must be 18 or older to use Skill Forge. The service is not directed at children, and children should not submit information directly. If you’re a coach, you confirm you have a reasonable basis to use the service for the players under your supervision.

What we give you

When you use Skill Forge, we provide:

• An AI-generated player profile (archetype, strengths, development areas) and/or position recommendation based on the answers you submit.
• A private dashboard where you can log observations and view weekly drills.
• One focused weekly drill email per subscribed player, on or about Sundays.
• The ability to unsubscribe or delete your data at any time.

The service is currently free during pilot. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future with appropriate notice.

What Skill Forge is not (important)

Skill Forge is an informational and developmental aid. It is not:

• Professional coaching certification or medical advice. The player profile and drills are AI-generated suggestions to help you train at home. They are not a substitute for a qualified coach, athletic trainer, or medical professional.
• A diagnostic tool. If your player is experiencing pain, injury, or developmental concerns, consult a healthcare provider.
• A guarantee of position assignment, playing time, or athletic outcomes. Youth athletic development is influenced by many factors outside any quiz’s ability to assess.
• A scouting service.We don’t share player data with college programs, recruiters, clubs, or any third party for evaluation purposes.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information. If you mis-state your player’s position or age, the output will be miscalibrated.
• Use the service for your own player(s) or, as a coach, for players you’re authorized to support. Don’t use it to gather data on someone else’s child without their parent’s knowledge.
• Use weekly drills responsibly. Don’t push through pain. Watch for fatigue. Adjust reps if a drill is too hard for your player’s current level.
• Don’t scrape, copy, redistribute, or resell our content, drills, or AI-generated outputs.
• Don’t use the service to harass anyone, submit illegal content, or attempt to break, probe, or overload our systems.

Content you submit

The quiz answers, player name, and observations you submit are yours. You grant us a limited license to use them to operate the service (generate the profile, send the emails, run the dashboard). We don’t claim ownership of your content and we don’t use it to train AI models or share it with anyone outside our service vendors (see our Privacy Policy).

Our content

The Skill Forge name, logo, quiz design, drill templates, archetype framework, and AI-generated outputs are ours. You can use them personally to coach and train your player. You can’t republish, redistribute, or build a competing product on top of them.

No warranty (the legal mandatory bit)

Skill Forge is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI output will be accurate, complete, or suited to a specific purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skill Forge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to your use of the service — including (without limitation) lost opportunity, lost playing time, injury, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently $0 during pilot) or $50 USD.

Termination

You can stop using Skill Forge at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we believe pose a risk to the service or other users. We can also discontinue the service entirely with reasonable notice via email to active subscribers.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Effective” date at the top and notify active subscribers by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

Miscellaneous

• Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Skill Forge is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
• Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• No assignment.You can’t assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• Entire agreement. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy make up the full agreement between you and Skill Forge.
